LAKE WORTH BEACH — Activist, attorney, and congressional candidate currently running in CD-22 Victoria Doyle conducted a press event on Ron DeSantis’ illegal partisan gerrymander of Florida’s congressional maps. As seen in this event video with speaker, author and activist Lev Parnas; candidate for HD-94 Bobby Williams, Jr.; Palm Beach County Commission District 6 candidate Rudolph Tinker; and Mark Beaumont of Indivisible, Victoria said:

“As a lawyer, I spent 30 years working in the federal legal system, and our federal laws are supposed to be grounded in fairness, transparency, and equal protection, as the US Constitution requires. This map fails all three of those foundational American legal values: it is manifestly unfair to Democrats and Black Floridians; DeSantis created the map in secrecy -- not transparently -- and of course we didn’t get to vote on it like the voters of California and Virginia did; and the new map denies Florida voters and candidates Equal Protection Under the Law, which is guaranteed by the 14th Amendment: one person one vote -- not 'one person, one gerrymandered pre-determined election outcome as a result of map manipulation.' No wonder so many voters are cynical about their vote counting. Let’s say it out loud: Republicans hate democracy because they can’t win when the maps are fair.”
